| Northeastern - Ducks (including Mergansers) From the second Saturday in October extending for 105 days. Canvasback Season Closed. Scaup: From the second Saturday in October extending for 86 days. |
| Balance Of State Zone- all ducks (including Mergansers) From the third Saturday in October extending for 100 days. Canvasback Season Closed. Scaup: From the first Saturday in November extending for 86 days. |
| Southern California Zone- all ducks (including Mergansers) From the third Saturday in October extending for 100 days. Canvasback Season Closed. Scaup: From the first Saturday in November extending for 86 days. |
| Southern San Joaquin Valley Zone- Ducks (including Mergansers) A split season from the first Saturday in October extending for a period of 23 days and from the second Saturday in November extending for a period of 79 days. Canvasback Season Closed. Scaup: From the second Saturday in November extending for 79 days. |
| Colorado River Zone- Ducks (including Mergansers) From the Friday after the second Sunday in October extending for 101 days. Canvasback Season Closed. Scaup: From the first Saturday in November extending for 86 days. |

Youth Hunts: (NOTE: Youth hunters must be 15 years of age or younger
and must be accompanied by a non-hunting adult 18 years of age or older.) Daily Bag Limit: 7 Ducks Daily bag limit may include: 7 mallards, but not more than 1 female. 1 pintail (either sex). 2 redheads (either sex). 2 scaup (either sex). Possession Limit: double the daily bag limit. |
| Duck Hunting: To hunt ducks, you must possess a valid California hunting license, a California Duck Stamp and a Federal Migratory Bird Stamp. Hunters under the age of 12 may hunt if they have taken and passed a hunter safety course and possess a valid California hunting license. State and Federal Stamps: State Duck Stamps and Federal Migratory Bird Stamp can be purchased at DFG offices or licensed agents. These stamps must be placed in the spaces provided on your California hunting license. |
